Before getting to the main thrust of today’s newsletter, I wanted to alert collectors to a new listing at my store. This is for a rare copy of a special edition of my old novella THE DIABOLICAL CONSPIRACY. Not to be confused with the regular limited edition of this book (which itself is sold out), this special edition is more lavishly produced and was limited to just 25 copies. It’s a really nice book, and this is the only copy I’ve ever had or ever will have. It’s for serious hardcore collectors only, thus the price. Check out the listing for photos.

Also, the new edition of my novel THE KILLING KIND has been released today by Grindhouse Press. The old version was unfortunately rife with typos, but that has all been fixed in this new reissue. Available now on Kindle and in paperback.
And now to the big news…
The 2024 Splatterpunk Award nominations were announced yesterday, and I was thrilled to learn that I received nominations in two categories. DEAD END HOUSE was nominated for best novel, and my story “The Night People” (included as a bonus in the Grindhouse Press edition of THE GAUNTLET) was nominated for best short story.
Of course, I never take these things for granted. With a huge influx of talented new writers arriving on the scene in recent years, there’s too much competition in the splatterpunk/extreme subgenre these days to ever make assumptions. I nonetheless had some hopes for DEAD END HOUSE, even if I was far from certain it would make the cut. The nomination for “The Night People”, on the other hand, comes as a total awesome surprise. It’s actually an old, previously unpublished story that I dusted off and heavily revised simply because I wanted to include something extra in the Grindhouse reissue of THE GAUNTLET. Funny how things work out sometimes, eh?
