As per usual with this series, this new entry is wild and over-the-top and filled to the brim with triggery things especially sensitive readers should probably shy away from, but fans of extreme horror should lap up. I may be guilty of recency bias in saying this, but I sincerely feel this is the best book in the Depraved series since the original. It’s certainly the most fun I’ve had writing any of them since that one. There’s more unhinged lunacy and depraved hilarity in these twisted pages than you can shake a stick at. As I’ve previously stated, one need not have read the previous sequels to enjoy this new one. It’s designed so it can be read by anyone who has only read the first book without feeling like they’ve missed anything.

Now for my other bit of big news, and if you follow me on social media, you may already be aware of this. If not, you may recall occasional vague references I’ve made here in this newsletter to a cosmic horror novel I completed earlier this year. I can now reveal that the name of this novel is MONSTROUS. Last week I signed a contract with Flame Tree Press for this book, and they will release it at a to-be-determined future date. Pretty thrilled with this for a number of reasons, high among them the fact that this deal reunites me with my old Leisure Books editor Don D’Auria. It’s fair to say that MONSTROUS is one of my more ambitious novels, and I look forward to all of you getting a chance to read it when it comes out. I’ll share more updates and information on this book when I can.
