Odds are many of you saw the news yesterday about issue number five of OBITUARIES, the highly successful collaborative publication from Kristopher Triana, Daniel Volpe, and Aron Beauregard, all three of whom are leading lights in the current extreme horror/splatterpunk genre. Each issue features original fiction from all three of these talented writers, but with issue number four, OBITUARIES began featuring a guest author as well. Last time it was Edward Lee. This time, you guessed it, the guest author will be yours truly. My story is an all-new 11,000-word extreme horror novelette entitled “The Sick Place.” The story is about a creepy, possibly Satanic hospital at Halloween time. Accompanying this story will be new novelettes by Triana, Volpe, and Beauregard.
Signed by all four authors, OBITUARIES No. 5 is available for preorder now at the link below. I’m told that it will hopefully ship before Halloween. Get yours while supplies last.

Today being the first day of October, allow me to take a moment to direct those of you unfamiliar with it to an earlier novel of mine called ALL HALLOW’S DEAD, originally released in 2015. This one is my tribute/homage to what I consider the golden age of slasher movies, the early 1980s, and is loaded with references both subtle and direct to the likes of Friday the 13th, Halloween, My Bloody Valentine, and more. It features a killer determined to take 31 victims over the month of October, making it a perfect reading choice for spooky month. It’s available in both paperback and Kindle editions. In the wee hours of October 1st, like a lot of you, I suspect, I kicked off my annual horror movie marathon for Halloween season. Of course, I watch loads of horror throughout the year, but I always try to step it up in October. This year I have the utterly insane goal of attempting to watch 100 horror movies by the end of the month. I’m fully aware that this may be impossible. There’ll be distractions and other demands on my time. It’s football season, for one thing, and hockey season is starting soon. I always watch loads of those games. So, it won’t be easy. It may not be doable at all, but I’ll give it my best shot. If nothing else, I’ll have fun doing it. The first two movies I watched were Friday the 13th and Slumber Party Massacre (the original versions of both). Tonight, after all the Sunday football is over, I’ll get back into the marathon, perhaps with the Criterion edition of Night of the Living Dead. After that, who knows, the possibilities are endless, as I have a pretty large blu-ray/4K horror collection. Expect intermittent updates on my marathon progress.
Until then, keep it creepy.
